Andra, the French National Agency for Radioactive Waste Management, is a public industrial and commercial organization, under the supervision of the Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. The core mission of Andra has three aims: 1) to propose safe long-term solution for radioactive waste without current disposal system; 2) to develop waste acceptance criteria and control the siting, construction, operation, closure and monitoring of repositories; 3) maintain and publish the National Inventory of radioactive materials and waste.

Orano activities focus on the production and recycling of nuclear materials and waste management, by developing activities in mining, uranium chemistry (conversion and enrichment), used fuel recycling, logistics, dismantling and fuel cycle engineering. Directly attached, Dismantling and waste management division is the entity which will lead the project for Orano.
